Baylor’s Story
Baylor was born in July2026 with complex congenital heart disease and heterotaxy syndrome. His heart has several rare and complicated defects, including double outlet right ventricle (DORV), transposition of the great arteries (TGA), an intact ventricular septum, critical pulmonary stenosis/pulmonary outflow obstruction, and hypoplastic left-sided heart structures. At 2 months old, Baylor has undergone two heart procedures and spent 33 days in the CICU.
Through many setbacks and interventions, Baylor has shown impossible strength paired with the sweetest smile. His mother, Cassidy, has been with him every step of the way. As a single Mother of two boys, unable to work due to Baylor’s prolonged hospitalization, she began experiencing significant financial hardship. Theo’s Gift was able to alleviate some of her financial burden by paying several months of rent and providing gas gift cards as she travels back and forth from home to the hospital. Cassidy was also a recipient of one of our ICU Care Cards – receiving 10 meal vouchers to be used for cafeteria meals during hospital stays.
Today, Baylor is at home recovering from his second heart procedure with his Mom and big brother. In the words of his mother, “Baylor is so much more than his diagnosis. He is my sweet, smile-worthy little boy who deserves the chance to grow, explore, and experience all the beautiful things childhood has to offer. We celebrate every little milestone because we know just how hard he has fought for each one.”
Thank you to our generous donors for allowing Theo’s Gift to help families just like Baylor’s.
